Myrtle Vine Academy’s philosophy of education is derived from our philosophy of life. As Christians, we believe that God is real, He is the creator of the universe; Christ is real, the word of God is real, Heaven and earth is real and that the angels of God are also real.
We believe God is the Almighty, the only one God who is self-existent, powerful, loving, merciful, gracious, a Spirit, forgiving though angry over sin.
We believe that every human being is created by God; is the image of God, is a spirit, with soul and living in a body, is wonderfully and fearfully made, a sinner but redeemable to become the temple of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that Human knowledge is limited to achieve greater things, so should rely on God who is the only source of truth, knowledge and wisdom.
We believe that Humans came to know by learning from God (His words, creations), parents, elders, parables, revelations.
We believe that God is the source of truth and therefore holds what is right and what is wrong; so, we can know right from wrong by constant studying of His word and following His ways, this provides the standard for right attitudes and ideology.
We believe as a Christian, the aim of education is to promote human development; spiritual, physical, intellectual and social (Luke 2:52). We live to raise humans with understanding of who God is, who they are; their innate skills, abilities. To develop them into becoming a strong positive influence on the society.
We promote by base learning using both active and passive learning by engaging the development of the minds through actives; (kinesthetic), explanation, test, making connections to prior knowledge, writing or talking (learners participation), all pointing towards the content of the learning, assessing learning ( both inside and outside), with bible integration.
The primary responsibility for the education of children are carried out by

1. Parents should be committed to God’s word
2. Model the word of God to them.
3. Talk about the word of God in every moment.
4. Use the word of God to set the standard for family life and living generally.
5. Make the word of God readily available or accessible.
1. Express God’s love (cause the child to love God)
2. Teach the virtues of Christ; tolerance, humility, meekness, unity of faith.
3. To teach the children to become grounded in kingdom doctrine.

2. Wrong doers should be punished
3. Good doers should be commended.
4. To set up policies to checkmate immoralities.
We will therefore partner with the church and families to raise this learners for God so they can escape the corruption that is in the world.
The Christian teacher should concentrate on all round development of the children: Spiritual, intellectual, physical, social. I believe that the nature of the learner and the learning process differs.
Knowing that God takes and deals with us the way we are, so a Christian teacher accepts all learners, treats them with love, wisdom and understanding from the Holy Spirit and the word of God; having the knowledge that every human is redeemable.
The curriculum is a plan or course for learning. It must have these four categories; Plan (lesson plan), Delivery, Environment and content. I will teach a biblical integrated curriculum.
focus of the lesson is on facts, skills, content, process, activities, experiences, quizzing in order to make sure content is known.
the teacher will dispense content to the students through different methodology and activities. (kinesthetic). The learning is teacher-pupils participation. All learners are carried along according to their individual pace while maintaining differentiation in classes.
The teacher assesses the performance of the learners progressively, both the formative and summative assessment. Learners performances are monitored, recorded and tracked for continuous improvement.
The teacher ensures that the environment is relaxed, godly, free, sometimes rigid, listening, participation in groups are encouraged .The learners are free to express themselves.
Generally, the purpose of the curriculum is to ensure a good teaching and learning process.
Thus, the aim of the Christian education is to promote the total development of the children in line with the word of God.
Myrtle Vine has granted my child opportunity to join a football academy and this has improved his social life tremendously.
